Community Audio - Music - Part 2

On to the next part of Community Audio a.k.a my own music hosted at The Internet Archive. Most of the song I wrote are hosted over there while still there are other hosted at Myspace and iLike. Looking at the statistics, The Internet Archive is a clear winner, offering access to larger crowds. One of my favorite song is “My Good Friend”. I remembered when writing this song, I was just fooling around with my guitar and my cousin Ina came from out of nowhere and she just started to sing along. In the end we came up with a song that is spontaneous and honest. The song had over than 750 downloads. ...

Community Audio - Music - Part 1

It’s been more than 5 years since I uploaded my first Creative Commons Licensed music now referred as Community Audio at archive.org. Bottom-line, looking at the statistics, I was in smiles :) The Internet Archive is more accessible to the mass it reads. There’s this song that I feel is in tune with #StartupLokal hehehe. When I wrote the song, I was on a transitional phase. The song is titled “Ain’t Sorry” and it was sung by my cousin Ina. The song had more than 1200 downloads :D It’s a brave song and I’m grateful a self-development NGO in the USA is using the song in one of their trainings, something I did made some difference in the world, be grateful! Stream it down below :D ...

StartupLokal 4.0 - The Build Up

Okay it’s 20 minutes after 1 AM, just got home and now writing about my favorite event every month: #StartupLokal. Held every first Thursday of the month. A quick statistic overview, tonight there are over than 103 participants registered. I’m sure there are more because not everyone is registered. The complete statistics for the event will be published ASAP. I must say that it’s one of the most well planned and surprisingly packed with web celebs tonight’s #StartupLokal event. Tonight the men and women of Google from 3 different divisions came. Better late than never right? After a chat with Eugenie from Google Singapore, she told me about Google’s plans in Indonesia. I can’t say much but it is with good faith I say: It’s about time Google, where have you been all this time? ...

Android Apps for Travelling

Today is a start of a 2 days trip to Bacakan, Jogja and FOWAB, Bandung. For this reason, I started hunting for Android apps that are tailored made for travelers. Definitely the kind of apps offer travel-ease and maybe some local content if available. By the way, I haven’t used all of them extensively but worthy of installation nevertheless. So let’s start with the list! Wikitude - wikitude.org This is the first app that came into mind. Also one of my 7 must-haves. With its Augmented Reality feature, I'm sure it'll give me a different experience. Someday I'll be layering for them when the time is right. They have Indonesian contents but I'm not sure it'll be large enough to cover Jakarta-Solo-Jogja-Bandung. Let's find out then ;) My Augmented Reality - mobikats.com Now this is a handy app. It basically gets geo coordinates from GPS of your location and lets you tag the location. This will be my number one app for geotagging. 3D Compass - android.a0soft.com Thanks to HTC, my Android has its own compass. With this app, I'm sure it'll be a neat survival tool if I ever get lost. Lookator - loftdev.com A very cool app to scan for Wifi APs and show you where it is and if you ever get low signals, just head towards the AP in Augmented Reality view to get stronger signals. Need Internet, this is a Must! TravelCamerAR - futurescope.jp This app will take pictures using the camera hardware and automatically geotag the pictures taken. By the way, it's another Augmented Reality app. I just love AR. AugSatNav - phyora.com One of the best Turn-by-Turn Augmented Reality navigation app for Android. Once I found a cool place to go, I need to know how to get there! Used this app over and over to look for addresses while driving. Very useful and a Must Have! Twidroyd - twidroyd.com I need to tweet so a Twitter client is a Must Have. Java here I come :p So there you go. My must-haves for travelling with an Android!

7 Must Have Applications for My Android

I just installed myself a slick new ROM for my Nexus One and I figure why not share the applications I deem MUST-HAVE. It would be interesting if in the distant future whether my must-haves still remains the same. Twidroyd - twidroyd.com The BEST Twitter client for Android. What made me comfortable instantly was its UI. Everything is right where they're supposed to be enabling me to Tweet without being confused small buttons for my thumb. The paid version offers a bigger widget applet. I paid for this app not because of the widget but because it’s just plainly great! Robo Defense Free - Lupis Labs If you ask me why the free version, it’s because I can’t pay for it without doing some workarounds. Nevertheless, I’m pretty sure you’re gonna be addicted and consider this game like drugs hahaha. ...

Morning Glory

Does any of you guys know what Morning Glory means? I can think of 3 definitions and one of them is sexual hahaha. Well this morning I was lucky enough to experience Morning Glory. I am NOT a morning person. It’s like coded in my genes that everything works after sunset BUT the recent changes of direction in my life are affecting me in a peculiar way. Anyways, this morning I had coffee with @rampok at Starbucks Melawai. Did you know that yesterday was his birthday? My gift was “Roti Surga” hahaha. At the same building, there’s this incredible bakery my girlfriend Jo took me to. You must try every bread they have in store, they’re delicious and that’s still an understatement. Roti Surga is my own term for that splendid Bacon Bread and it’s BACON ;) ...

Leap of Faith

Have you ever done that? Your own Leap of Faith. I did that many times but only these past few years I knew that the leaps I did was for the right faith. I didn’t keep count of my leaps but the results are all well in my life. Stretching back 7 years ago was when I felt that life is worth every single push to the top. My dear Grandpa ended 73 years of blessings here and went home to JC to start a new one. It was my first defining moment as a person. I lived with my Grandpa since I was only single digit. Letting him go was hard BUT I let go really fast. My first lesson in life that time was every one of us is here in this God given Earth for a single reason: To Love. Once you figured out (or couldn’t) what Love is then you’re through. It is through my Grandpa’s love, I can see reflections of JC in him. ...

V3 of StartupLokal at Telkom GCC

For the last 2 #StartupLokal I was high because of its geeky spirit. You CANNOT buy geekiness cos it’s coming from deep inside of you, it’s who you are. V3 is getting less geeky and more corporate. Is it a price geeks pay for more exposures among other freebies? I’m trying to figure out why the last 2 events were such inspiring moments for me and yet this third one felt more like a seminar. Being a developer and a startup founder, I experienced the limitations of a startup. Maybe because it’s such an open space, the limitation is seamlessly gone? I don’t know but I wanna know. ...
