Hello Urbanesia!

A cheerful morning today. Exactly 1 month before my birthday and the switch to Urbanesia is complete. Very happy to integrate with Urbanesia with the role Chief Innovation Officer. Selina Limman, CEO of Urbanesia told at Urbanesia’s blog here a short recap on how this all began. From my point of view, I just love Urbanesia’s currently over than 200.000 POIs database. No other local website is enriched with that much data and its quality is an example to follow. [Read More]

What a Day this 2nd of July 2010

Today is a FULL day for me. Aside from being a full day, it’s a day of happiness for me personally and professionally. My biology clock today was a bit off, but it’s well worth the day. The day started at 00:00 and at that time I was in front of my MacBook coding. I sometimes wonder why I code. I was coding for a dream I once had with friends and wanting to live the dream again. Poligamy AR - Redesigned UI - by @andreasfendri

Hi everyone. This past few weeks, a friend of mine @andreasfendri is working on a renewed UX for Poligamy AR. I am in debt with him and please accept my thanks ndre :) Back to Poligamy AR, it’s a needed refreshment from the standard Android UI set. The design is now featuring custom made tabs and list view. Looking at the design initially, I was impressed with Andre’s touch of modern UI and combining it with wooden elements. [Read More]

Android Apps NOT Safe - Really?

This past 24 hours, tech blogs around the globe have been pointing out that 1 out of 5 Android apps are exposing private data and actually acting as spyware. I’m amused by this issue being reported nearing iPhone HD’s launch. But I will say that the reports are true. You guys must know that I’m an Android developer as you can see by the tag cloud in my blog is heavy with Android. [Read More]

Being a StartupLokal

Tonight was a StartupLokal meeting with @novpratama, @phoetz, @MissDimps, @rampok, @sagad, @nataliardianto and @nuniek. We gathered at Pizza e Birra, Plaza Indonesia EX and watched SVN vs ENG afterwards right there. The agenda of the meeting was to talk about the directions of where StartupLokal is going. Out of all the interesting topics, one topic that caught my attention was how to be a StartupLokal. I guess here in Indonesia you guys as a StartupLokal would agree that although it’s time consuming, money-vacuum, sleepless nights, change of biology clock, uncertainty and all the other traits of being one; it’s a risk we all are more than willing to take and getting through it one smile at a day. Android & iPhone - NOT an Objective Opinion

Let everyone who is reading this be warned that this is NOT an objective article about either of the platform. So politely for fanboys, I’m just expressing my experience using both. It’s a love and hate relationship for me so both are winners and losers. The first of the two that I own and used everyday is an iPhone 3G 8 Gigs. I must tell you that every iPhone is a masterpiece of great User Interface (UI) design. [Read More]

A Very Full & Startup-esque Week

Echelon 2010: Day 1 - Some Thoughts

Some will say it’s enlightening, some also says it’s nothing new from a technical point of view but all of us agree that now is the time for Indonesia as an emerging market to grow and finally create an ecosystem supported by Its startups. Before I say anything else more, I have to say that I was late coming there :( Woke up too late and I got there just in time for @andisboediman and @andyzain presentation. [Read More]

Developers, EMPOWER Yourselves!

It’s with pride if I answer questions about what I do. I’m a developer running a web startup. There are 2 things in the previous sentence that makes me smile every time I think about it. Let’s dive in. I AM A DEVELOPER I’m lucky enough to be one of the few to work in something that I have loved ever since I laid my eyes on. I fell in love initially with a 8088XT running Digger.
