Reworking Bango29.com

Ok it’s been a few months since my last post. Just a few days ago I was looking at the statistics for Bango29.com and I found some interesting numbers like so: Each month the number of visits peaked at 30%. Especially around February when I started to guerrilla my way posting technology related tweets with my @tista twitter account. Bango29.com is mostly visited by visitors from Russia, accounting for roughly 52% of the total pageviews. This is why I paid Google a little visit to translate a phrase, so here it goes "Privet, Rossiya". Now this is the most interesting fact that got my attention right away. At least 91% of the total visit was a direct visit which means most of the visitors typed in Bango29.com into their browser's address bar. I'm flattered :) Hope this trend will keep continuing. So eventually I'm currently reworking Bango29.com and adding in some Twitter elements. I've come to love Twitter by the way. It feels great to share information and knowledge to others. I mean this. In the following weeks I will be experimenting with different approaches and my apologies if some of the experiments will have a bad effect for your eyes. Lastly, I wanna give a big warm welcome to everyone and hopefully you all will enjoy this blog as much as I do. Thank you very much! ...

Me @ Yahoo! Indonesia Geek Speak

Back in November 2009, Yahoo! South East Asia held its first Yahoo! Open Hack South East Asia event. It’s an event for web developers to explore their minds using web tools & services hosted by Yahoo. They are launching arrays of services that will definitely leverage the web applications you are building. Contestants were registered from around South East Asia, guessed who won the competition? An Indonesia of course! Be proud Indonesians! ...

Online, REDEFINED!

How do you digest the word online nowadays? It has shifted definitely from its initial meaning. Back when The Internet was in its early stages, the term online is associated with its antonym. Yes you guessed it right: offline. Being online is a state of connectivity, while offline indicates a disconnected state. Today the term online has matured its audience and it is becoming more and more a lifestyle of people on the go. This trend is greatly supported by the abundance of mobile devices promoting their online capabilities. ...

#hwotd on Twitter

It’s 2010 now! I’m starting 2010 with a resolution to tweet “Hello World” in various languages (programming languages included) at least once a day. All of my “Hello World” tweets will end with #hwotd. I’m doing this for the sheer fun of learning multiple languages. Other than that, I want to let you guys know the first step in any programming language. I written my first “Hello World” in BASIC more than 18 years ago. It was on an old and discarded 486 PC that loaded BASIC if I didn’t inserted a DOS floppy. It was from then on I fell in love with it. ...

Do or Die!

This is it! It feels like everything that I’ve done back in 2009 is leading me to 2010. I have no idea how 2010 is gonna affect me, it’s not my privilege to say what’s gonna happen. I’m just adding it all up and now, it’s becoming more of a fact than merely dreams. My gratefulness span to my family and friends who are always been a part of me. Your motivation to me has always been perceived in a positive way. Thank you to Yosephine for your undying love for me and for your endless patience. You are and always will be my driving force. ...

Mobile Blogging

This is my premier mobile blogging post. I must say I didn’t expect Wordpress to create its own Blackberry application. I was quite disgusted with Wordpress’ email-to-post feature. Just didn’t seem mobile enough lol. With the enormous growth of Blackberry users in the world (particularly in Indonesia), I guess Wordpress doesn’t mind a bit of Java coding to grab a piece of the pie. Anyways, I haven’t dissect the application thoroughly. My first glimpse while I was composing this post was its lack of a rich text editor. To be honest, since Blackberries use scrolls as it interface, a rich text editor might be a little bit annoying. Keyboard shortcuts will be great though :) ...

Rebirth: Mediafusion

In a few weeks, I’m off to a new adventure in life! I’m resigning with my current job as a web developer in one of Jakarta’s most prominent 5 stars hotel and starting up my own Mediafusion. Partnered with Sukenji Ramadahasim, we are PT. Mediafusion Interactive Communication. It’s been a lifelong dream and now it’s slowly becoming a reality. I learned a great deal of managerial knowledge in such a short time span getting the pieces together. ...

hostingMUREH.com

My latest adventure! I proclaim myself not just as a web developer but also a web hoster now :) Never really thought about it before until recently. I’m frustrated by the lack of options with just any web hosts. None really offers dynamics when it comes to what I need. A purely simple example is SSH access. Have a look out there and almost none offer SSH. If security is their reasoning then their just not fit to become a web host. Not to say that there isn’t any flaws but web hosters nowadays don’t really understand what they’re doing. Some are just people with capital and enough interest towards the business with minimum technical expertise. ...

KanalFOTO.com - Stock Photo Indonesia

This website is aimed as THE portal of Indonesian stock photos. Currently still in the process of piecing it all together. What I can tell you, it’s a purebred of OpenSource magic and Facebook will be its best friend. A first for me to incorporate Facebook wonders with websites. My first start was Facebook Connect. The Connect feature is already live on the homepage. Although now not 100% yet, it’s a preview of what’s to come. The next step is an application. ...
