Cooking My Steak Sous Vide - Medium

Cooking My Steak Sous Vide - Medium
This is a boy toy post, I just got myself an Anova Precision Cooker. The thing comes with Wifi & Bluetooth connectivity, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? To top it off, it also comes with a mobile app you can download to basically, cook. You need to have a container that can fit the thing when cooking. I had an unused plastic container and it did the trick perfect. For the steak, I have an australian rib eye steak I ordered yesterday. [Read More]

God's Love

In the age of technology, seldom I read about technologists writing about God, Love or both. This post is a technologist writing about God’s Love. The transformation it brought to me. A universal meaning, to be loved and in love. Wherever my path takes me, I’ve always talked with my colleagues about the wonder of the human body. Us humans are sentient beings made of flesh and blood. The most advanced technological wonder of the world. [Read More]

Hackintosh Pro

Hackintosh Pro
Since my last Hackintosh post, I overdid myself with a new one. This time I’m switching sides to AMD fro the GPU with a simple reason because Nvidia cards are not Mojave ready. I’ve tried but without hardware acceleration, you can’t do anything right. Before anything else, this is the final spec: Intel Core i7 8700k Cooler Master MasterLiquid Pro 120 CPU water cooler MSI Z370 Gaming M5 HyperX 16GBx2 DDR4 3200 MHz Samsung Evo 960 Pro 250 GB (boot drive) Samsung Evo 960 Pro 500 GB (store) Asus ROG Strix RX580 8GB OC Thermal Take MasterBox MB500 Casing The first thing I’m glad of is the Mojave installation. NVMe Hackintosh - High Sierra

NVMe Hackintosh - High Sierra
A few months ago I wrote about my 2018 Hackintosh which I’ve just upgraded again. This time by adding an NVMe drive into the motherboard. A blog post here made me very excited to try it out for myself. I chose a Samsung SSD 960 EVO 250GB because of its unprecedented benchmark scores. Samsung claims it’s up to 3x speedier than regular SSD’s although benchmarks shows the number to be 2x. [Read More]

Hackintosh 2018 Upgrades

Leveraging the upgradeability of a Hackintosh, I made some more upgrades. The most notable is water cooling and a new Nvidia 1050 Ti GPU. It’s now the beefiest spec of any hardware I own. The specs are now: Intel Core i3 6100 Corsair H60 CPU Watercooling Biostar B250-GT3 Motherboard Nvidia 1050 Ti 4 GB 20 GB DDR4 RAM 120 GB WD Green SSD 1 TB Toshiba HDD Fenvi FV-T919 Wifi AC/Bluetooth Adapter I was aiming for a quiet Hackintosh, that I got by using water cooling. Reactive Programming for an API

Reactive Programming for an API
I have to admit, when I first heard about Reactive, Rx, Linq, etc I was reluctant to learn it. All kinds of materials were mostly theoretical and I failed to get a grasp of the whole thing. Well I still am, I still can’t explain what a monad is. That said, this blog post is all about practicality of a pragmatist. PRISM is not more than just a product, building it have brought more opportunities. [Read More]

Hackintosh 2017 - Upgraded

Hackintosh 2017 - Upgraded
I built a Hackintosh a few weeks ago because I want an upgradeable Mac. And so I upgraded. Also since now I’m back in Jakarta, I took an SSD from my now defunct HTPC + Storage rig. The storage part which is a 3TB USB Harddrive decided to break. So now my Hackintosh is upgraded with these parts: * Biostar B250-GT3 - MicroATX - 4 DIMM slots FTW! And it's a newer chipset with 2 PCIe slots for more GPU power. [Read More]

Hackintosh 2017 From Used Parts

Hackintosh 2017 From Used Parts
After some motivation from a colleague about this game I’m after, I decided to build myself a PC. That idea got me thinking, why not build with parts that are Hackintosh compatible. Further more, since this is a PC, I can build lean in the beginning and upgrade along the way. Used parts are the best way to go I thought. It’s unfortunate that I couldn’t find used parts for the GPU and SSD. [Read More]

Poor Man VPN - SSH

Baru-baru ini gw mau ga mau mesti terima kalo koneksi internet di rumah (bukan Jakarta) mesti gunain telco karena landline nya masih belum siap. Apa yang terjadi? Same shit, same smell, HTTP connection gw dibajak jadi sebuah iframe yang isinya kata XL untuk bantu track quota usage gw. Bull shit! Gw udah sering bicarain praktek menjijikkan seperti ini dari XL dan telco lain. Mereka ga berhak melakukan ini, detilnya bisa baca di blog post gw sebelum-belumnya. [Read More]

DNS Leak Fix - Make it Stick

DNS Leak Fix - Make it Stick
Just recently I read about the term Transparent DNS Proxies. Never knew that it was a term. Here in Indonesia the practice is regular amongst ISP’s. My own home internet connection is plagued by this. ISP’s in Indonesia are somewhat obliged by the government to censor porn. Not all ISP’s oblige though. For instance, business type internet connection mostly are free from this. My office has a Fiber Optic connection and their DNS are not doing it. [Read More]
