The first experience I had listening high fidelity music involved a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy and a 5.1 Creative speaker setup, this was back in 2003. At the time, I just plug analog outputs to the appropriate speakers, there was no noise or distortion distinguishable from the speakers. It’s a different story today, analog outputs are noisy and your speakers will bleed the electrical noise into sonic waves. A while ago I wrote about Airplay for listening but after a while I wasn’t enjoying the sync delay every time I play any video file. This also doesn’t work with Windows PC so I wanted something that works using a universal standard even though if I have to buy some more toys to do any signal conversion as long as it stays digital all the way to the DAC. ...

After installing Roon for the first time I’ve been using it everyday. How I use Roon has changed along the way. A mixer was directly plugged into my Hackintosh but now it’s plugged to a Raspberry Pi. I can now listen to music even though my Hackintosh is not powered. Discover This feature alone I think is worth half of the subscription price. Roon with its awesome metadata power will recommend you songs, albums, artists and my favorite is artists you don’t even know you had in your library. ...

Just can’t saya this enough; UNRAID IS GREAT! Ever since I assembled my Unraid box and got it licensed, I have now used up more than 50% of my storage space. It’s time to upgrade to prepare adding more storage when it gets to 80%. With this rate though, I think I’m gonna have to seriously consider moving from SSD to mechanical drives. The second post of reliving the songs I’ve written or cowritten, first post here. The most powerful song both me and Ina has ever written, ever! Here I go again blogging about my own music. It’s been quite a while since I listen to any of the songs I wrote. The statistics at The Internet Archive - Community Audio is a welcomed surprise. This is also a premier blog post using Bit.ly Pro’s custom domain. So 1 day after 65 years of Indonesia, I’m in a old and new mood :) Starting off the list is a song I wrote when I was able to partly let go of someone but yeah, still wishing for something. On to the next part of Community Audio a.k.a my own music hosted at The Internet Archive. Most of the song I wrote are hosted over there while still there are other hosted at Myspace and iLike. Looking at the statistics, The Internet Archive is a clear winner, offering access to larger crowds. One of my favorite song is “My Good Friend”. I remembered when writing this song, I was just fooling around with my guitar and my cousin Ina came from out of nowhere and she just started to sing along. It’s been more than 5 years since I uploaded my first Creative Commons Licensed music now referred as Community Audio at archive.org. Bottom-line, looking at the statistics, I was in smiles :) The Internet Archive is more accessible to the mass it reads. There’s this song that I feel is in tune with #StartupLokal hehehe. When I wrote the song, I was on a transitional phase. The song is titled “Ain’t Sorry” and it was sung by my cousin Ina. The song had more than 1200 downloads :D It’s a brave song and I’m grateful a self-development NGO in the USA is using the song in one of their trainings, something I did made some difference in the world, be grateful!
